Ministers Message
Dear Friends in Truth,
Happy Mother’s Day! This
month we celebrate mothers, in all the many forms, from mothers to grandmothers,
to sisters, aunties and good friends. Mother is the nurturing side of God, that
part of the Divine whole that cares for and nurtures its creation. On Mother’s
Day we especially think of the caring and rearing of our children, certainly one
of our highest callings.
And so we send blessings
to any and all who nurture our children.
In the month of May, I
would encourage all of us to also honor Mother Earth. Our planet has lovingly
housed and sustained us for eons, and now she needs our nurturing. As part of
the Association for Global New Thought, we are asked to participate in the
Season for the Earth from April through June. On our Peace Page, you will
find some suggestions for easy ways to nurture our planet. I hope you will have
fun with this project.
We might also ask
ourselves what else we can nurture. Since this is the month wherein we
celebrate the nurturing aspect of humanity, we truly have this wonderful
opportunity to invoke this power in all of our lives. For instance, we can
nurture our relationships and friendships by giving them more attention and
love, by being more patient, kind and understanding. And we can nurture our
body temple, by choosing foods that energize and support its wellbeing. We can
nurture it with gentle exercise and adequate rest. And maybe in celebration of
Mother’s Day, a massage and/or a Quantum Energy treatment? To nurture well, we
must be willing to listen, and when our body aches or appears to be sick, it is
simply saying, “Please pay attention to me, and nurture me.”
And, we can nurture our Church by becoming fully engaged in its activities. Please don’t wait until the church becomes what you want it to be before you volunteer your time and talent to it. To be all that it can be, our Church needs our nurturing…now.
May all of your life feel the blessing of the power of nurturing love!
In the Light, Rev. Dr. Donna Byrns
