LIGHTThe world is asking for light. A new age has arrived; old things have passed away. Old ideas of God and man have had their day. The very atmosphere is charged with a peculiar sense of the oneness of all life - the eternal throb of the universal heart that beats in all. God is nigh, even within; He is the very soul of life. This fact is felt by multitudes, and the desire for more light is akin to a great hunger and thirst to know. No intelligent man is willing to believe that all revelation and inspiration were given to one race of people for a short period of time and then have ceased forever. We must remind ourselves, again and again, that we are creatures of eternity. Time is no more than a term, often meaningless. We are living in the Eternal Now. Revelation and inspiration are constant and progressive and are as real as Spirit and Mind. This being true, we see at once that in each man is a prophet. The voice of Truth is within. We look no longer to Jerusalem or to Rome for authority. We know that within the soul the eternal Father lives and speaks. If it was possible for an Isaiah to prophesy in glowing terms under the power of Spirit, then the same thing is possible for any other man if he learns how to permit the Universal to speak through him. It must be remembered that humanity is God manifest in the flesh. In a more specific manner, it is God seeking to manifest Himself on the plane of the particular or individual, in order to unfold the love and beauty which lie hidden within Himself. This He seeks to do through the Son of His love, the only begotten, who is in the bosom of the Father, and who is found in the soul of every human being in the universe. That is the Son whom He gave from the abundance of infinite love. "Now are we children of God, and it is not yet made manifest what We shall be." We know that, if He shall be manifested, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him even as He is." We are made a little lower than God and are crowned with glory and honor. Jesus of Nazareth was the living manifestation of a son of God. He lived in the consciousness of his oneness with the Father and with all that is. In that consciousness, be became master of himself and of all material manifestations. He could command the winds and the waves, and they obeyed his will; he could speak the word, and all disease perished before his cleansing purity. It was not an intellectual trick which made him Master; it was the consciousness which he had of his oneness with the Father. "He that hath seen the Father." The words that I say unto you, I speak not for myself - but the Father in me he speaks the words. The works that I do, I do not myself - but the Father abiding in me doeth the works." Jesus lived from within out. A new heaven and a new earth, which he termed the "kingdom of heaven," were externalized from this person. He had no sick friends, for all his friends became well when they beheld him. Health flowed from him as the river of God, clear as crystal. In him the true man was manifest and not the inverted, mortalized misconception which has nearly wrecked the world. He said, "I am the light of the world." He also said, "Even so let your light shine."E. Morgan Isaac
